Just wanted to weigh in here that I disapprove of the PBOA/OAOA Baseketball Commissioner, Howard Mayo, vote on the Pay Freeze proposal that was recently voted on.

It disturbs me that one person can make a decision that has a negative impact on so many without first polling the very people it effects.  The roughly $600 per school savings just does not seem to be a significant enough amount to warrant officials receiving pay increases that help offset cost of living and inflation increases.  While times are tough for schools, they are EQUALLY tough on sports officials.  With many people struggling financially, I consider this to be a setback for sports officials that warranted a state wide polling of them.  It is my belief that had all sports officials been polled and the commissioners votes reflect the majority, the OAOA Executive Board would have rejected the proposal.  This is evident in how the vote went with certain baseball associations!

The vote to freeze the fees for 2009-10 was made by the PBOA Executive Board and was not a decision by Howard Mayo.
You should investigate the facts before posting a statement.

I stand corrected and please accept my apologies for not first investigating this.

Let me rephrase then that I disapprove of the PBOA Executive Boards decision to instruct Howard Mayo to vote in favor of the pay freeze.

I will not be renewing my membership for that association in protest of this.
