Just wanted to weigh in here that I disapprove of the MISOA/OAOA Soccer Commissioner, Janet Irigoyen vote on the Pay Freeze proposal that was recently voted on.
It disturbs me that one person can make a decision that has a negative impact on so many without first polling the very people it effects. The roughly $600 per school savings just does not seem to be a significant enough amount to warrant officials receiving pay increases that help offset cost of living and inflation increases. While times are tough for schools, they are EQUALLY as tough on sports officials. With many people struggling financially, I consider this to be a setback for sports officials that warranted a state wide polling of them. It is my belief that had all sports officials been polled and the commissioners votes reflect the majority, the OAOA Executive Board would have rejected the proposal. This is evident in how the vote went with certain baseball associations!
